Communication days dedicated to the promotion of local products and local and national gastronomic heritage were launched on Saturday in Chefchaouen, with the participation of renowned Moroccan chefs, cooperatives, and tourism promoters.
According to the organisers, this event, chaired by the governor of the Chefchaouen province, Ismaïl Abou El Houkouk, also aims to strengthen the tourist attraction of the region, highlight the rich and varied natural, civilisational, and gastronomic potentials, and preserve cultural heritage and agricultural biodiversity.
This event, organised by the "Convivium Jbala-Dardara" group and the Slow Food Maroc association, thus aims to enhance local agricultural products through culinary arts, to present recipes of authentic Moroccan cuisine, under the guidance of chefs from Morocco, and to promote the Green Morocco Plan (PMV), which advocates ecological agriculture and the networking of local actors for the development of the tourism sector.
The organisers have thus chosen local gastronomic heritage as one of the pillars of support for tourist activity in the region, in line with the objectives of sustainable development, ecological conditions, and national plans in the tourism field.
This two-day event was also marked by the presentation of culinary recipes under the guidance of renowned chefs at the national and international levels, including Chef Moha, and tastings of local products, in addition to the setting up of exhibition and marketing stands for local products from the provinces of Chefchaouen and Ouazzane.
