The revocations and "abusive" transfers of national security officials are multiplying and have almost the same explanation: serious professional misconduct, failure to respect duty, or even violation of professional secrecy, as was the case recently with the head of the Khouribga district, who was criticised for his statements to the press. In a press release from the Ministry of the Interior, the revocation of the divisional commissioner, head of the Khouribga district, is announced for failure to respect the duty of reserve and violation of professional secrecy. Said commissioner is "accused", according to the press release, of having disclosed information on dysfunctions of the security system during the Royal visit to Khouribga.
Still according to the press release, investigations revealed that the divisional commissioner was the source of the information that was relayed by the press. The failure to respect duty therefore falls under the application and operationalisation of an article of the Constitution that gives the right to information. But where is the secret, since in Khouribga and elsewhere on social networks, everyone knew that during said visit, several dysfunctions were noted with photos to support them on several information sites?
It is stated in Article 27 of the Constitution that "the right to information can only be limited by law, with the aim of ensuring the protection of everything concerning national defence, the internal and external security of the State, and the private life of persons, to prevent the infringement of the fundamental freedoms and rights set out in this Constitution". However, in this case, it was information that in no way infringed upon the security of the State or that of persons.
As a reminder, Mustapha Mouzouni, police prefect of Casablanca, was transferred to Zagora for professional misconduct he allegedly committed. And we have just learned that the General Directorate of National Security has taken the decision to suspend the heads of the judicial police in Anfa and Hay Hassani from their duties. Could these suspensions have a relation with the crackdowns carried out by the Royal Gendarmerie in drug circles in Casablanca?
