Very small businesses under the microscope

Globalisation and the opening of economic borders make it essential today to seriously look at the future of the VSE (very small enterprise) with the aim of improving the visibility necessary for monitoring the economic behaviour of this category of companies. Several ministerial departments have constantly played a primary role in the economic analysis of this component of the national economic fabric.

In this context, the city of Khouribga hosted, on 20 September, the third regional stop of the 2nd edition of the International VSE Forum. Organised by “Attitudes Conseil” in partnership with several public and private institutions and establishments, this stage of the forum took place at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services. Likewise, the event is placed under the aegis of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Investment, and Digital Economy, that of Employment and Social Affairs, as well as that of Handicrafts, Social and Solidarity Economy. The meeting was also marked by a massive participation of business leaders and other collaborators.

“This event is intended to be a vector for promoting the potential of companies in the region. A true platform for exchanges between entrepreneurs and public or private operators of services to companies,” indicate the organisers, the objective being to allow a saving of time by bringing together in the same place the various providers of products and services offered to companies (banks, insurance, IT, technical assistance, etc.).

In her speech, Amal Cherif Haouat, President of the Forum, defined the objectives of this second edition hosted by Khouribga, a city that is experiencing exceptional socio-economic dynamics. “The importance currently given to VSEs is more than justified given that they represent 80% of Moroccan companies and that they are one of the main sources of job creation and growth in the regions,” she stressed. It also turned out, according to all the speakers, that VSEs allow for the densification of the national economic fabric, by constituting a driving element in regional planning and contributing to the maintenance of a local economy, essential for balanced and harmonious growth. VSEs, it was specified, remain the most innovative and are created according to new markets by adapting to the changing needs of consumers.

The rapprochement, or rather the direct contact through this forum between different officials of public and private establishments, as well as business leaders, allowed for an effective concentration of exhibitors, experts, reference entrepreneurs, and speakers.

This major event, also supported by the Union for the Mediterranean and other international organisations, was characterised by fruitful debates that allowed VSE bosses to obtain all the clarifications directly concerning the stages of business creation, from the idea to the development of the activity. Furthermore, it should be noted that the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services published, through the “Khouribga Potentiel” association, a special bulletin drawing up a complete socio-economic map of the Khouribga province.

Tribute

The Forum was an occasion to pay tribute to the OCP and BCP groups, as well as to the Centre for Young Leaders (CJD) for their commitment to the technical and financial support of the economic and social actors of VSEs during and after the creation of the company. Tribute was also paid to the Union for the Mediterranean as a leading actor in the development of employability, spirit, and corporate culture among women and men living in the Mediterranean rim.
