Five films made by students from film schools were screened on Tuesday at the Tangier cinematheque as part of the 12th edition of the Tangier Mediterranean Short Film Festival (FCMMT).

These short films represent five film schools, namely IHB Art and Media of Casablanca, the Higher School of Visual Arts of Marrakech (ESAVM), the Specialized Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual of Rabat (ISCA), Cinematographic Studies (Faculty of Letters of Marrakech), and the Specialized Master in Documentary Cinema (Abdelmalek Essaidi University of Tetouan).

The short film "Goodbye Cinéma" (11min) by Madane El Ghazouani (IHB Art and Media of Casablanca) relates the story of a Moroccan director who discovers a young actor through a casting that seems promising to him, but during the filming, a discord breaks out between these two filmmakers, undermining the working climate.

"SAGAR" (ESAV Marrakech) by Pape Abdoulaye Seck is an 11min film that describes the trauma of Amina, who has become mad from losing her children.

She makes herself a fake baby that she tries to protect from everyone under the helpless gaze of her husband. "Pierre précieuse" (7min) by Wafaâ Salim and Soukaina El Houari (ISCA Rabat) narrates the story of Salma, Youssef, and Meryem, actors who are rehearsing a play. An outing that will be a real nightmare for Salma.

"L'aveugle et le pianiste" (3min) by Ayoub Ettouri (Faculty of Letters-Marrakech) tells the story of Sara, a 22-year-old blind girl who loves the city despite its difficulties.

One day, she hears in the Riad where she is spending her holidays the tones of a piano; her curiosity transports her to the room where Mohcine was playing his last piece. The short film "Confessions" (17min), directed by Samah Aidouni, Mohamed Elafifi, Omar Saadoune, Yassin Benatia, and Sanae Zaher (Abdelmalek Essaidi University-Tetouan), relates the confessions of a filmmaker, where fiction and reality intertwine.

The five films compete for the "Youth Prize", outside the official competition, awarded to student directors.
