The city of Tangier will host, from 2 to 6 May, the 7th meeting of Andalusian music lovers, with the participation of a host of artists from the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, Fès-Meknès, and Rabat-Salé regions, at the initiative of the Nassaim Al Andalous Association.
This musical meeting will be punctuated by the organization of an artistic caravan, which will tour several public schools, foreign educational mission schools, and foreign cultural institutes established in Tangier, in order to highlight Andalusian music, in addition to a conference under the theme "The Haj Abdelkrim Rais School of Andalusian Music in Fès," indicated a statement from the organizers. The programme for this event also includes the organization of an exhibition of photos and works by Haj Abdelkrim Rais, in order to shed light on this authentic Moroccan art, particularly in terms of musical writing and composition.
This event will be punctuated by the organization of musical shows performed by the Tangier Andalusian music troupe, "Layali Nagham," under the direction of Said Belkadi, groups of musicologists from Rabat and Salé, the "Nassaim Al Andalous" Andalusian music choir, under the direction of Jamal Eddine Ben Allal, and the choir of Andalusian music artists from the Fès-Meknès region.
This event aims to encourage young people to take up Andalusian music, promote the role of this authentic art in spreading the values of coexistence and peace, strengthen musical dialogue, preserve this cultural heritage, and meet the aspirations of fans of this music.
