465 million DH to promote accessibility to advanced educational structures for the benefit of Moroccan and African youth

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, proceeded, on Monday in the Hay Hassani district prefecture in Casablanca, to the laying of the first stone of the Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences, an avant-garde establishment both in terms of its structures and its management mode.
465 million DH to promote accessibility to advanced educational structures for the benefit of Moroccan and African youth

Mobilising investments of around 465 million dirhams, this project reflects the Sovereign's firm commitment in favour of the acquisition of knowledge and the qualification of the human element, as well as the particular interest that His Majesty accords to education, scientific research, and health, key sectors of progress and sustainable human development.

The realisation of this university, which H.M. the King has been pleased to name after His august Name, is in direct line with the Sovereign's efforts aimed at favouring accessibility to advanced education structures for the benefit of Moroccan and African youth.

It will also constitute a platform for practical training and improvement for students and a hub for medical research between Europe and Africa.

The Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences, the first multidisciplinary education structure of its kind in the Kingdom, includes four training establishments, namely a faculty of medicine, a higher school of public health and health systems management, a faculty of nursing sciences and health techniques, and a higher school of biomedical engineering.

The future university will be realised within a period of 21 months on a plot of 31,000 m2. It will house a set of structures and dependencies, notably university residences and research, simulation, and congress centres, all designed according to modern architecture in compliance with the concepts of sustainability and energy saving.

The Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences aims to contribute actively to the consolidation of the skills of national human resources, recognised for their self-denial, creativity, and professionalism. It also sets itself the objective of capitalising on the rich national network of health structures and creating synergies through international partnerships for the benefit of the national health offer.

Placed under the tutelage of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Executive Training, it operates in partnership with the Ministry of Health.

It should be noted that the Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences of Casablanca, which opened its doors last October, provides its courses within a temporary building located near the main centres of interest of the Kingdom's metropolis.
