Hay Hassani crowned champion of the "Casa Foot Cup" for youth

Hay Hassani won the "Casa Foot Cup", the Casablanca inter-district cup for young adolescents aged 14 to 16, which took place from 18 to 30 July. The youth of Hay Hassani snatched the cup from those of the Anfa district by one goal to nil. "The winners demonstrated their great footballing talent and a great capacity to channel their energy for a common goal. They defended the colours of their neighbourhoods with great will and tenacity and behind their accomplished little footballer outfits, they showed great courage," indicates a statement from "Casablanca Events & Animation", the Local Development Company (SDL) that initiated the tournament. During the 7-a-side tournament, 192 adolescents were selected to represent the 16 districts of Casablanca (Aïn Chock, Hay Hassani, Mers-Sultan, Al-Fida, Mâarif, Roches Noires, Anfa, Sidi Belyout, Ben M'Sick, Sbata, Hay Moulay Rachid, Sidi Othmane, Hay Mohammadi, Sidi Bernoussi, Sidi Moumen, and Aïn Sebaâ). The young footballers were supervised by 48 educators.

In total, the tournament recorded 56 goals, scored by ten talented scorers, including four from Hay Hassani, two from Sidi Othmane, one from Anfa, one from Aïn Chock, one from Hay Moulay Rachid, and the last from Ben M’sik. Wassim Settar, from Aïn Chok, was crowned top scorer of the tournament with 12 balls in the net. Organised in partnership with the wilaya of the Casablanca-Settat region, the city of Casablanca and its 16 districts, and with the support of the Casablanca Football League, the Casa Foot Cup is part of the vision of Casablanca Events & Animation in terms of local social and sports entertainment.

The SDL, in charge in particular of the sports promotion of the White City, aims to replicate this initiative as part of a global approach, in disciplines such as basketball, handball, volleyball, or even athletics, by the end of 2017. The long-term goal is to organise the Casablanca Olympics, in which young girls and boys as well as people with reduced mobility will be able to participate.
