Mobilising investments of more than 43 million dirhams, this project reflects the Sovereign's firm commitment to the acquisition of knowledge and the qualification of human resources, and the particular interest He attaches to the research and development sector, the key to progress and growth.
The creation of the Grand Casablanca Research, Development and Innovation Centre in Engineering Sciences is also part of H.M. the King's efforts aimed at making the Moroccan Nation a productive society, open to the sciences and technologies of the day. The new establishment will be built on a 1,600 m² plot of the National Higher School of Electricity and Mechanics (ENSEM), which falls under Hassan II University. It will include computer, electrical and mechanical laboratories, allowing for the strengthening of ENSEM's research facilities, the establishment of new teams, themes or research areas with high development potential, and the training of engineers in Morocco's new global professions.
This project is the result of a partnership between ENSEM, the regional council, the Hassan II Academy of Science and Technology, the company Safran Engineering Services, the Cosumar group, the Technopark Business Association, the National Centre for Scientific and Technical Research, the Moroccan electronics, mechatronics and mechanics cluster association, and Fiat Group Automobiles Maroc. The Research Centre will thus facilitate the transition from idea to product, by offering a space, an organisation and services that allow different actors, particularly industrial operators, to exchange and work as a team during all phases of the innovation process.
The Grand Casablanca Research, Development and Innovation Centre in Engineering Sciences will thus accompany the policy of major projects initiated by H.M. the King, reinforce the "Plan Emergence" industrial development strategy, strengthen the influx of numerous companies to Morocco, particularly in the fields of aeronautics, automotive or electronics, and finally, consolidate the momentum of development that the region as a whole is experiencing.
