The jury for the official competition of the 7th edition of the Khouribga International Documentary Film Festival (Fifdok), which will be held from 23 to 26 December, will be chaired by the American journalist, Ellen Obenchin.
The jury for this edition, which will pay tribute to British cinema as the guest of honour, also includes among its members the researcher and specialist in documentary films, Houssam Ouahba (Germany), the producer Alaâ Nasr Jad (Egypt), the director Jamal Souissi (Morocco), the actress and visual artist, Simunic Mouline (Romania), and the researcher in audiovisual, Abderrazak Zhar (Morocco), indicates a press release from the Fifdok Association.
The Association, based on its conviction regarding the value of criticism, particularly for documentary films, has decided to dedicate a prize to criticism, for which the candidates will be judged by a jury composed of the writer and critic Fouad Zouirek (Netherlands), the Moroccan researcher and critic, Hamid Tbatou, and the Algerian researcher and director, Nasr Mahboub, adds the same source.
Regarding the young amateurs' competition, the jury is composed of the Moroccan researcher in audiovisual, Abdelilah Mourtabit, the Moroccan playwright, Idriss Talbi and the Tunisian producer Mohamed Tabit.
The Fifdok is organised with the support of the OCP Group, the Moroccan Cinematographic Centre, the Al Jazeera Documentary channel and the Al Jazeera Centre for Training and Development, which will grant a training scholarship to the best amateur director.
