The city of Taza will host, from 20 to 22 November, the second edition of the Provincial Olive Festival. The event is part of the objectives of the Green Morocco Plan, which aim to develop olive production in the region and strengthen the competitiveness of the sector.
The second edition of the Provincial Olive Festival of Taza will take place from 20 to 22 November. This second version is organised around the theme "The olive sector: quality, valorisation, and marketing at the heart of the Green Morocco Plan".
Initiated by the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries of the Taza province, this event is, in fact, part of the objectives of the Green Morocco Plan aimed at developing olive production in the region and strengthening the competitiveness of the sector.
The Festival programme covers several axes, including a presentation on the olive sector, the presentation of the olive sector in the Green Morocco Plan, the presentation of the balance sheet of projects carried out at the regional level, and techniques for producing high-quality olive oil.
The organisers have also scheduled agricultural competitions that will reward the best producers and exhibitors, including "The best olive producer prize", "The best livestock breeder", and "The best stand".
The Provincial Olive Festival of Taza, organised in coordination with the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Taza-Taounate-Al Hoceima, also aims to promote the olive sector and boost the competitiveness of agricultural products, with a view to guaranteeing the best conditions for marketing olive products on the market.
Furthermore, the first edition was initiated under the theme "Promoting the olive sector and the challenges of local development".
This was marked by the participation of the private sector and partner institutions of the Green Morocco Plan (SONACOS, Tamwil Al Fellah, the solar energy sector, and agricultural insurance companies) with the aim of bringing services closer to farmers and facilitating access to credit. Similarly, an exhibition of agricultural production equipment, as well as a study day on "The development of the olive sector and its products" were organised on the sidelines of the event.
