The Regional Directorate of the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA) of Chaouia-Ouardigha and Doukkala-Abda recently organised, in Settat, an awareness day regarding the health requirements set by the regulations in force, for the benefit of managers of food establishments and companies falling under its area of action.
During this day, participants examined the procedures for granting approval or health authorisation, in accordance with Law 28-07, relating to the safety of food products and its implementing texts. They also addressed the procedures for the health monitoring of food establishments and companies, indicates an ONSSA press release.
The objectives of this day aim to encourage food establishments and companies to adhere more to the process of granting approvals and authorisations to ensure the health safety of food products and guarantee that foodstuffs are handled, prepared, treated, processed, and stored in full compliance with health requirements, it is explained.
The day, in which the regional director of ONSSA, the regional director of agriculture, the heads of divisions, and heads of ONSSA services took part, also aims to protect consumer health and consolidate their confidence in the reliability of foodstuffs from authorised or approved food establishments and companies.
It also aims to fully comply with regulatory labelling requirements, the press release indicates.
