Eriâya for social and cultural actions, Al-Basar International Foundation, and the medical and paramedical staff of the Hassan II regional hospital organized, last week, a campaign to fight against eye diseases for the benefit of the most needy layers of the province and other neighboring cities. In total, 1,200 people were entitled to ophthalmological consultations and 500 others underwent surgical interventions for cataracts. During this campaign, precious work was accomplished by the medical and paramedical staff and the personnel of the regional and provincial delegation of public health. This allowed a considerable number of patients to consult specialist doctors and to be treated for a disease for which the care is expensive for populations in the rural world.
The closing ceremony of this campaign was presided over by Mohamed Mofakkir, Wali of the Chaouia-Ouardigha region and governor of the Settat province, who delivered a speech during which he essentially emphasized the importance and impact of this humanitarian action on the Settat population. He expressed on the same occasion the full willingness of the province to support and collaborate with all socioeconomic partners on all social actions at the level of the Settat province. He finally paid tribute to the associations organizing this laudable action, which spared no effort to come to the aid of needy social layers in the city of Settat.
