A grand welcome for Ittihad Tanger, winner of the beach soccer championship last week. The city of Tangier experienced moments of sporting joy after its club, IRT, won the Morocco championship title following its victories during the "play-offs" phase, where its matches took place between December 23 and 27 on the sandy pitch of Sidi Rahal beach. The tournament saw the participation of Sakr Agadir and Amal Mogador Santa Cruz for the South group, and Ittihad Tanger, Amal Sidi Rahal, and the Moroccan Beach Soccer Association for the North group.
The Ittihad Tanger team was able to win the title after achieving exceptional footballing performances on the sandy pitch of Sidi Rahal beach, notably during the match against Amal Mogador in the fourth round of the knockout phase, where the team made a comeback and equalised the score with 7 goals, before deciding the result in their favour via a penalty shootout. Ittihad owes its victory to its star, the Mauritanian Cheikh Belkheir, who scored world-class goals.
Thanks to this result, the protégés of President Bassam Akil were able to maintain their lead, offering the city of Tangier its first national beach soccer title, thus confirming their strength and great development in a short time thanks to a strategy and vision aimed at forming a competitive team with distinguished players with the youngest average age among the national clubs that participated in the tournament.
