Reacting to what was broadcast by some electronic sites regarding the "spread of measles among inmates of the Tanger 2 local prison", the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) indicated that as soon as the first symptoms of the disease appeared in four inmates, including two new arrivals, the administration of the Tanger 2 prison immediately undertook a series of preventive measures.
The suspected cases were quarantined and subjected to the necessary analyses, the DGAPR specified in a statement, adding that the appropriate therapeutic protocol was followed for the cases that tested positive among inmates and staff, in cooperation with local health authorities.
A voluntary vaccination operation against measles was also carried out for the benefit of inmates and staff of the penal establishment, under the supervision of a medical staff from the Ministry of Health.
