Can we say that fate is cruel? Same illness, same wheelchair, same sick left leg, same football position, this is where the two best wingers of the Moroccan championship, the "gunners" of the North, Mustafa Jebli of the MAT and Mohamed Messaouri of the IRT, find themselves.

After the jubilee organised at Saniat Rmel for the benefit of the Tetouan player five years ago, this week the city of Tangier honoured its "prodigal son".

Great solidarity and support for Mohamed Messaouri thanks to Hilal and also thanks to the initiative of the Veterans of the FAR and Beni Makada.

On this occasion, in a precious and noble act of recognition, the Hilal Tangier football club, at the Ibn Khaldoun stadium in Tangier, in partnership with the Association of former players of Beni Makada, honoured the great star of local and national football, during a friendly celebration and a sports gathering in the presence of a group of eminent sports personalities, media representatives, and a number of well-known citizens of the city.

During this high-level initiative, organised to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the presentation of the Manifesto of Independence of Morocco, Mohamed Messaouri, the former old glory of Raja Souani, Ittihad Tangier, the FAR, Moghreb Tétouan, and the CODM, was honoured.

Also attending this tribute were the three Tangier-born ex-FAR players Khalil Boudraâ, Khaled Bahid, and Saïd Zairi "Pereira", as well as the former military internationals Lahcen Anaflous, Saâd Dahan, Driss Wadish, Wardi Mohammed (Chicha), Othmani Abdelghani, Wadani Lahcen (Hcina), Rmoki Abderrahim, Hamou Fadili, Badar Abdallah...

To give more brilliance to the honour ceremony, an exhibition match took place between the veterans of the ASFAR, led by Aziz Abdelmalek, and the Association of veteran players of Beni Makada, which is one of the active associations in the region.

As moral support and solidarity, several speakers gave an overview of the football career of the honoured player and the qualities he possessed, his style, his ball control, and his powerful shots.

Everywhere he was called "Jenn", meaning the devil. May Mohamed Messaouri recover, this is the wish of the sports editorial team who wishes him a speedy recovery.
