The pearl of the Strait is in fits of laughter. While a shepherd was leading his flock in a pasture in the commune of Gzenaia, near the city of Tangier, one of his sheep unearthed a box. The shepherd opened the container and, to his great surprise, found photos of local elected officials wrapped in spells (S'hour). The municipal councillors targeted by the spell are all elected officials from the largest district of the Kingdom, Bni-Makada.
It is true that while some reject black magic in the name of their principles or religion, some "politicians" clearly have no qualms about going to a sorcerer to cast spells on their colleagues, attract "baraka" or, since stupidity clearly has no limits, ward off the evil eye.
Since this "bewitched" or "charlatan" discovery, the web has been buzzing; the people of Tangier no longer know which saints to turn to. Should they laugh or cry? But what emerges from the opinion of internet users is clear: they question the intellectual level of the elected officials as well as their academic backgrounds, which, it must be noted, for the vast majority, are simply non-existent. Others, not lacking in humour, claim to finally understand how some lists manage to collect thousands of votes when those who compose them have no credibility. More than that, they have a bad reputation.
Let us note, however, that this affair is not a first in our country. It recalls the case of the "charlatan of Boulanouar", in the Khouribga region. In mid-October 2020, elements of the Royal Gendarmerie carried out a raid on a self-proclaimed "Fqih". In the charlatan's workplace, investigators discovered animal remains, but also several photos of local elected officials.
Albert Einstein said that "there are only two things that are infinite, the universe and human stupidity... but I am not sure about the universe". The German genius was not wrong.
