Strengthening German-Moroccan university cooperation
The inaugural ceremony of this event was organised, Tuesday 17 April, at the National School of Commerce and Management of Tangier.
The official inaugural ceremony of this event was presided over by Michael Witter, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Morocco, who underlined the importance of the Tangier-Tetouan region thanks to its geographical situation and its cultural proximity to Europe. "The region is of great importance for German-Moroccan relations, on the cultural, economic and political levels," he affirms. The speaker continues that, on the cultural level, the German language is taught in several establishments in Tangier, including the King Fahd School of Translation, the Goethe-Institut and the Moroccan-German Association (DMG-Nord). "The Abdelmalek Essaâdi University maintains cooperation relations with the German universities of Darmstadt and Ilmenau," continues Mr Witter.
