The Homan El Fatwaki primary school recently hosted the third edition of the Moulay El-Hassan trophy for "Kids’ Athletics". This competition brought together nearly 60 children representing six primary schools under the Ben M’sik National Education delegation. The sporting activity aimed at detecting the future athletes of Morocco was supervised by administrative and educational staff from the participating schools and athletes, including former international referee Azzeddine Farissy, former high jump champion Brahim Gouj and former discus throw champion Abdelali El Mouaz.
According to Farid Abdelwahab, director of the Homan El Fatwaki school, this initiative, the first of its kind at the Ben M'sik delegation level, creates a climate of competition among children and encourages them to take more interest in sport, particularly athletics. At the end of the competition, the pupils of the host school won first place with 33 points, followed by the representatives of the Mohamed El Haddaoui school (30 points) and the pupils of the Youssef Ibn Tachefine school (28 points). Participation certificates and medals were distributed to all the budding athletes. Another edition of Kids’ Athletics is scheduled for 14 January at the Anoual school, which will host pupils from 4 other establishments, namely Al Moutanabi, Driss Lhrizi, Ibn Al Amid and Mohamed Al Fassi.
