H.M. the King inaugurates the hospital for mental health and psychiatric diseases of the “Mohammed VI” University Hospital Centre of Oujda

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, proceeded, on Wednesday, to the inauguration of the hospital for mental health and psychiatric diseases of the “Mohammed VI” University Hospital Centre of Oujda. Realised for a total investment of 40 million dirhams, this project reflects the particular interest that the Sovereign attaches to the Health sector, through in particular the development of hospital infrastructures, the strengthening of basic health services, and bringing them closer to citizens.

With a total area of 7,500 m², the new hospital establishment, with a capacity of 108 beds, includes services for the treatment of psychotic and neurotic diseases, isolation, emergency, and consultation services, an administrative block, and a social activity and occupational therapy room. It also includes child psychiatry, geronto-psychiatry, psycho-physiology, and addiction services, as well as a training centre for doctors and nurses. In addition to its primary vocation of care, the Mohammed VI Psychiatry Hospital will thus ensure training and continuing education missions, just as it will work in favour of the social reintegration of patients.
