And that makes six for the Amazigh Cinema Festival which will take place this year from 25 to 29 November in Ouarzazate. A moment for an important component of Moroccan cinema to take stock and consider the prospects. The spirit is still the same, because the objective remains to bring the public closer to the 7th art. The cinematographic caravan will, once again, tour the rural world. Thus, screenings will take place on 25 and 26 November in Tlouète and Tarmigt. The film 'Tawsna' will be screened for the public in the open air, in the presence of its director Abdelaziz Oussayeh.
From 27 November, young people from the International Cinema City will take part in workshops initiated on this occasion, around editing and script techniques. On the same day, the kick-off for the screenings of films in official competition will be given. The public will thus have an appointment with short films such as 'Portrait' by Mourad Khellou, 'And me' by Houssain Chani, 'The forbidden fruit' by Noura Azeroual, "The bike" by Khalid Qouban, 'The key' by Aziz Mala, 'The owner of the bike' by Saad Belli, 'What is it?' by Hamid Azizi, and 'Moustaj' by Hakim Qebbabi. Cinephiles will also be entitled to feature films, already awarded in other festivals, such as 'Agherrabou' by Ahmed Bayddou, 'Tawnza' by Malika Mennouk, 'Adios Carmen' by Mohamed Amin Benamraoui, and 'Heb rrman' by Abdellah Ferkous. The films in competition will be judged by a jury chaired by Moroccan director Fatima Boubakdi and composed of poet Abdessalem Fizazi, researcher Zayd Ouchna, critic Hamid Tbatou, and Amazigh actor Houssain Berdouaz. Furthermore, the theme of the festival, namely the highlighting of local oral memory through Amazigh film, will be the subject of a round table, with the participation of several researchers including Mohamed Sallou, Rajab Machichi, and Mustapha Elouizi. A posthumous tribute will be paid to director Mohamed Mernich and critic Brahim Aït Lhou. The program includes, in addition to two visual arts exhibitions and works of Amazigh memory, the screening of the film 'Swinkm', out of competition, at the civil prison of Ouarzazate.
