About Ouarzazate
Ouarzazate (in Arabic ورزازات) is a town in southern Morocco and the capital of the province of the same name. It is also nicknamed "the gateway to the desert".
Ouarzazate is located in a valley, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. It is popular with tourists on their way to the Sahara Desert. Scenic excursions in the region offer a glimpse of a bygone era in the ruins of the ancient Kasbah. It's a good place to stock up on provisions for desert treks.
