In response to oral questions on "the fight against violence against women" in the House of Representatives, Ms. Ben Yahya emphasised that monitoring the implementation of this law and its implementing decree is part of the ministry's efforts to combat this scourge at the legal level.
For 2024, the ministry allocated financial support totalling 26 million dirhams to reception centres for women victims of violence, in addition to funding 79 projects for listening and orientation centres for these women, the minister added.
Regarding the standardisation of care services for women victims of violence, Ms. Ben Yahya noted the development by the ministry of a reference guide for the care of this category within multifunctional establishments, with the aim of establishing rules and criteria for providing basic services in these establishments, in addition to raising awareness and combating stereotypes.
As part of the ministry's preventive approach, the minister recalled the launch of the 22nd national campaign to combat violence against women and girls under the theme "For a family environment favourable to social development without violence against women".
Organised from 25 November to 18 December 2024, the campaign was marked by the holding of more than 1,557 activities in the various regions of the Kingdom, with 152 participants, she stated.
Ms. Ben Yahya affirmed that the ministry's action to combat this phenomenon goes hand in hand with the application of constitutional provisions aimed at combating discrimination against women, in line with the High Royal Orientations to promote the status of women in all fields and protect them from all forms of discrimination.
