This campaign, organised under the theme "The first 1000 days, the foundation of our children's future", is part of the regular medical and awareness campaigns programmed under the axis of supporting maternal and child health, in partnership with the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, and the "Isaad" association.
A statement from the Provincial Committee for Human Development in Moulay Yacoub province reported that about 2,200 people, representing women, children, and people suffering from chronic diseases, all hailing from the communes of Sebt Loudaya and Meksa, benefited from this medical campaign, which was hosted at the headquarters of the Dar Taliba and the Sebt Loudaya primary school, where quality and specialised services were provided to them, as well as medical examinations and consultations that included 2,200 in general medicine, 1,150 in gynaecology and obstetrics, and 476 in paediatrics.
Also, 117 examinations and consultations were provided in respiratory medicine, 130 in gastroenterology, 260 in nephrology, 230 in urology, 196 in endocrinology and diabetes, 250 in dermatology, 350 in dentistry, 11 in psychiatry, and 520 in orthopaedics and rheumatology.
The campaign's services also included providing 460 examinations and consultations for blood sugar testing, 350 in ultrasound, 220 in AIDS, and 200 in hepatitis.
The programme of this campaign also included organising three awareness and sensitisation sessions for the benefit of 290 women of childbearing age about the importance of the first 1000 days of life, which is considered a crucial and important period for the mental and physical development of the child, in addition to raising awareness about the importance of early detection of breast and cervical cancer, healthy nutrition, and ways to prevent chronic diseases, in addition to distributing free medicines to the beneficiaries.
For the success of this campaign and to ensure it passed in the best conditions, modern medical devices and logistical equipment were utilised, as well as human resources that included specialists and nurses from the partner association, supported by administrative and technical staff from the prefecture and the delegation. This noble initiative with a humanitarian dimension was greatly appreciated by the target groups.
These activities have great value, reflecting the main objectives of the National Initiative for Human Development programmes, which place the human element at the heart of its concerns by implementing various projects in various fields by supporting access to infrastructure and social services, social and economic integration of youth, and caring for maternal and child health, and girls' education in rural areas and accompanying vulnerable groups, in line with the high directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which emphasise the importance of investing in the non-material aspects of human development.
