Curtain falls on the Ksar El Kébir Festival

The curtain fell on Thursday on the Ksar El Kébir Artistic and Cultural Festival, organised at the initiative of the Ksar El Kébir section of the Popular University for Lifelong Learning, in partnership with the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region.

This cultural event, organised in partnership with the Centre for Studies and Research in Social Sciences, the Moroccan Cinematographic Centre, and the High Commission for Former Resistance Fighters and Former Members of the Liberation Army, is part of the celebration of the anniversary of the Battle of Oued Al Makhazine around the theme "The Battle of Oued Al Makhazine: preserving memory, a springboard for the development of both shores".

The opening ceremony of the festival was marked by a musical show hosted by the Zahjouka orchestra, under the presidency of Bachir El Attar. On the programme for this meeting was a conference on the theme "The Battle of Oued El Makhazine and the building of national identity" and the screening of the film "Drums of Fire: The Battle of the Three Kings" by Souheil Ben Barka. This cultural event aimed to consecrate historical heritage in the service of local development and to make it a lever for territorial development, as well as to bring new generations closer to the history of Morocco and national constants, affirmed Zakaria Stehli, a member of the popular university, on this occasion.
