The Alamia Laaroussia Association for Social and Cultural Action is organising, from 22 to 24 May 2015, the fifth edition of the Mata International Horse Riding Festival in Znied, Larache province. Initiated in partnership with the UNESCO International Festival of Cultural Diversity, this edition takes place around the theme "Intangible human capital, promoter of development". "For this edition, marked by the participation of the southern provinces of the Kingdom, we are counting on more than 300,000 visitors", declared Abdelhadi Baraka, president of the organising association, during a press briefing.

The Mata Festival is a way to celebrate the land and heritage of the Northern region, as well as this ancient traditional horse game "Mata". In addition to equestrian competitions, the event will be marked by an exhibition of local products and handicrafts. Likewise, an animation space has been planned, where plays for children will be performed. A colloquium around the theme of this edition is also on the programme, as well as an awareness campaign on the importance of water.
