African Film Festival: Khouribga mobilises for its FCAK

The city of Khouribga does not cease to mobilise its potential to consolidate its place as a privileged place for dialogue and sharing for a better promotion of African cinema by offering its festival-goers a space for the consolidation of cultural ties between African peoples and for the development of their creative and cinematographic potential.
African Film Festival: Khouribga mobilises for its FCAK

Indeed, the African Cinema Festival of Khouribga, organised since 1977, has now acquired its letters of nobility. It is a space for conviviality, reflection, and exchange between cinema professionals. From one edition to the next, the FCAK outlines a new profile and succeeds in this way in carving out a path for itself in the African cinematographic space.

The phosphate capital is preparing to organise the 15th edition of the African Cinema Festival, from 30 June to 07 July 2012, an event with a continental dimension that gives the city of Khouribga another status, that of one of the most prestigious crossroads of African imagery.

The Foundation of the African Cinema Festival of Khouribga (FFCAK) specifies that the twelve films in official competition must be of recent production, from January 2011 / 2012, directed by African filmmakers, and at the rate of one feature-length fiction film for each participating country. In addition to the screening of films, there will be an international colloquium with the participation of specialists of the 7th art and a signing ceremony for publications related to African cinema. Tribute will be paid to certain figures of national and international cinema. On the programme, training workshops for the cinema profession are also planned, supervised by specialists in the field. Similarly, cinematographic caravans will be organised throughout the province so that everyone can participate in this artistic event. Finally, a daily festival bulletin will be published.
