Kelaat M'Gouna (in Arabic: قلعة امگونة, qalʿat imgūna), or El-Kelaa, is a town located in southern Morocco, in the Souss-Massa-Drâa region and the Tinghir province. It owes its name to al-qalʿa (a word meaning 'the fortress' in Arabic: القلعة), and to the region of the Ighil M'Goun (4071 m) and the wadi of the same name that flows there. It is inhabited in the vast majority by a Chleuh Berber population. This very lively town has long been an economic, commercial and social centre for the population living in the region. It is best known for its 'Rose Festival' which takes place every year in the month of May.
