Mohamed Oudor candidate for his own succession: A former ADB member

It is for a third term at the head of the urban commune of Fam El-Hisn that the candidate Oudor Mohamed presented himself to complete the development path he successfully undertook during the two previous terms, by following a plan responding to the needs of the population and aiming at the modernisation of the city.

A locality known until then for the emigration of its inhabitants, but Oudor is working to make it a centre for welcoming new migrants. Therefore, a centre capable of offering employment and housing to all those who go there.

A native of Fam El Hisn, this convinced USFP economist served for a long time at the African Development Bank (ADB) before being elected a member of the municipal council of his city, then a parliamentarian. This allowed him to hold a rich address book, both nationally and internationally. An address book that he never hesitates to use when it comes to his commune.

For the development of the latter, he spares no effort and never ceases to seek funding and partners likely to contribute to its construction. Thus, at the beginning of May, an agreement on the financing of several projects for a budget of 12 million dirhams was signed with the usual partners of the commune, namely the Ministry of the Interior (DCGL) and the Southern Agency. These two partners have contributed for a large part to the rise of the city since the arrival of Oudor and his team.

This latest agreement covers municipal construction, the construction of a craft centre, the development of green spaces, the reforestation of the city's arteries, the exterior arrangements of certain social and road projects, currently underway, the work of the second phase of the tourist complex, the relocation of the landfill and the development of a municipal depot, and the continuation of the study of the project for the use of solar energy for electricity production.

The last project is very ambitious and its realisation will make the commune the first to sell electricity to the ONE. It will also allow for the coverage of electricity needs for the three provinces of Tata, Tiznit, and Guelmim.

In his programme, Oudor takes stock of the last six years.

A balance sheet that could not be more positive in the opinion of all the constituents who, for once, are unanimous in confirming this fact. It includes achievements that no inhabitant of Fam El Hisn could have dreamed of a few years ago, whether it be the generalisation of water, electricity, liquid sanitation, the construction of the dam, or even the viability of the roads, which has meant that all the alleys of the city are paved. Despite the projects carried out within the framework of the two previous terms, the candidate Oudor intends to carry out numerous projects such as:

-* the management of the commune's natural resources;

-* the valorisation and management of cultural and tourist heritage;

-* the rehabilitation of social equipment and the improvement of the living conditions of the populations;

-* the sustainability and development of agricultural and livestock activities;

-* the integration of women and young people into the development process;

-* the strengthening of the capacities of local actors in the field of development and the consolidation of good governance.
