The second edition of the International Forum of Hassani Culture of Dakhla opened on Friday under the theme "Tolerance in Hassani culture: education, promotion, and development", with the participation of several foreign countries and delegations representing various regions of the Kingdom.
The opening session of this cultural event, organised by the Regional Academy of Education and Training in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, was marked by the organisation of a carnival hosted by students from schools during which they sang the national anthem of the Kingdom and performed several popular and choreographic songs and dances.
On this occasion, the director of the Academy, Jayida Labik, indicated that this edition, whose opening session took place in the presence notably of the Wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, Lamine Benomar, and the governor of the province of Aousserd, Abderrahmane Jouhari, aims to highlight the unbreakable historical ties existing between this part of the Kingdom and the glorious Alaouite Throne, to strengthen cooperation and cultural exchange with the African continent, and to make Hassani culture known.
Jayida Labik added, in a statement to MAP, that this event also aims to preserve and promote cultural heritage and to emphasise its role in sustainable development and the implementation of advanced regionalisation through the integration of the Hassani language into school curricula and the consecration of the values of tolerance among the youth of the region.
On the programme of this three-day Forum, in which delegations from Senegal and Mauritania are taking part, are a salon on Hassani culture, a workshop on literary creation, as well as the signing and presentation of a work by Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, and colloquiums on tolerance and Hassani culture, in addition to an artistic evening.
