Seizure of a truck full of "Dardak" in Dakhla

Seizure of a truck full of "Dardak" in Dakhla

A nice catch by the gendarmerie in Dakhla. The gendarmes of the region seized a truck transporting a large quantity of the famous medicine commonly called Dardak, which causes rapid weight gain. The vehicle, which was coming from Mauritania, was transporting about 6,000 boxes of 100 tablets each of a medicine called Dexamethasone, which is a synthetic glucocorticoid hormone. It is actually an anti-inflammatory used recently by women to gain weight. It is also used illegally with other doping and anabolic products in livestock farming to make animals gain weight faster, by increasing the protein content while decreasing the lipid rate. Hence its prohibition for athletes and racehorses.

In the truck in question, 1,500 boxes of another product called Cyproheptadine were also seized, the long-term use of which can stimulate appetite and thus lead to weight gain, useful for people with underweight. These two products have been very popular with women looking for curves recently because of their effectiveness and the speed of their effects, hence the increase in their price in an increasingly flourishing market. They come essentially from Mauritania and Algeria. In the famous truck, the gendarmes were also able to seize about 300 boxes of "Maassal", a product used in the consumption of shisha. It is "Fakher", a VIP brand used in the Gulf countries and the Middle East. A great catch, therefore, by the Royal Gendarmerie in the Dakhla region, which was estimated at 70 million centimes at wholesale price. According to specialists, this amount would double or even triple once the merchandise is sold at retail.

The truck driver and the owner of the merchandise who accompanied him were jailed and brought before the courts. The trucker is a regular on this route between Morocco and Mauritania since he was transporting chicks intended for poultry farming from Tiznit to Nouakchott.

The investigation revealed that the truck was not transporting this merchandise when passing through customs, which would suggest that he had recovered the batch of medicines on Moroccan soil. Some regulars in the region told "Libé" that contraband goods pass through other routes on camelback and are subsequently transported in vehicles coming from Mauritania.

It must be said that the trend for curves among our women has made the Dardak market flourish, which is in high demand and increasingly expensive.
