Initiated by the Ministry in charge of General Affairs and Governance and the Agency for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development of the Southern Provinces, this event, placed under the theme "Social economy, pillar of solidarity development," saw the participation of more than 156 associations and cooperatives. According to the organisers, this fair is intended to be a space for the exchange of experiences and products between actors of the social economy, and aims to support and assist regional associations and cooperatives by opening an exhibition space for their products and services and by encouraging solidarity purchasing. It also wants to help these actors, who have become indispensable partners in regional development, to find solutions to the obstacles hindering the marketing of their products and services, and to establish local trade for this type of promising economy, and also offer the opportunity to propose global projects capable of ensuring social progress and which are articulated around participatory and sustainable regional development. Throughout these four days, the emphasis was placed on the promotion of the values of the social economy and awareness of the importance of creating federative units or economic interest groups, to meet the requirements of the market, and was also an opportunity to support the marketing of local products, which offer perspectives for social enterprises in terms of job creation. In addition to the exhibition of participants' products, the programme of this event was marked by information sessions, debates around themes relating to the social and solidarity economy, the draft law on simplified procedures for creating cooperatives, the law on fair trade, and the social coverage of the most destitute layers. Training workshops were led for the benefit of cooperatives in the field of management and business, as well as in the processes of valorising cooperative products and marketing techniques for products from social economy organisations. The fair also made it possible to look at certain successful experiences at the local level, such as a women's cooperative, based in Dakhla, which succeeded in producing cheese from camel milk, by means of developed processes that allowed for the first time on a national scale to manufacture such a food substance. The kick-off of the fair was given on Friday by the Minister Delegate in charge of General Affairs and Governance, Najib Boulif, who was accompanied by the Director General of the Agency for the Promotion and Development of the Southern Provinces, Ahmed Hajji, the wali of the Oued Eddahab-Lagouira region, Hamid Chabar, as well as elected officials, officials, and local actors.
