The Oued Eddahab-Aousserd Urban Agency has just been awarded its ISO 9001 version 2008 quality certificate. According to a statement from the Oued Eddahab-Aousserd Urban Agency, audited last February by the Moody Certification Maroc office, the Quality Management System (QMS) implemented by the agency has been declared compliant with the requirements of the ISO 9001 version 2008 standard. The certification covers urban planning and management, as well as technical assistance and advice in the fields of urban planning and architecture. This certification crowns the efforts made by the agency to improve QMS processes and develop a quality-focused mindset within the establishment. The agency's management has committed to a quality management policy by deploying all necessary human, material, and financial resources to implement the quality management system. This agency has always strived to integrate the fundamentals of ministerial policy into its strategy, through the programming of agglomeration and urban projects in addition to traditional urban planning documents, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the territorial development concept. The establishment of investment reception zones and urban upgrading, which are guarantees for strengthening the attractiveness of the regional space, have also constituted major interventions by the establishment. In the same vein, the establishment has made notable efforts to put in place the foundations of a proximity policy, the main ingredients of which are systematic consultation with partners, openness to professionals and civil society actors, and the streamlining of procedures. It is worth noting that the city of Dakhla has succeeded in definitively eradicating all shanty towns existing on its territory for nearly two decades, following the total elimination of 5,117 shacks, the creation of two housing estates (Al-Wahda and Ennahda) over a total area of 160 hectares, and the relocation of more than 25,000 people for a total amount estimated at 328 million DH. Dakhla, through its demographic weight, its infrastructure, and its potential, positions itself as the only true city that polarises the entire territory of the Oued Eddahab-Lagouira region. In a quarter of a century, the city has experienced significant growth, increasing the urbanised surface area (excluding the airport and barracks) from about twenty hectares in 1980 to nearly 800 hectares today, covering public facilities and services, activity zones, and housing.
