From 13 to 15 April: 3rd scientific and social days of the SMCSL

The Moroccan Society of Oncology of the private sector (SMCSL) is organising its 3rd scientific and social days on 13 and 14 April in Dakhla, focusing on recent approaches in terms of therapeutics and care for cancerous diseases. This event is intended to be a space for exchange and sharing of experiences between national and foreign specialists, with a programme of interventions focused on technical, diagnostic, and therapeutic progress recorded in the management of certain cancerous diseases known for their frequency in Morocco, such as breast, rectal, and cervical cancer, indicates a press release from the organisers on Wednesday. Parallel to this scientific event, the SMCSL is organising its 3rd screening caravan for breast and cervical cancer, under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team composed, among others, of oncologists, radiologists, gynaecologists, and anatomical pathologists, the objective being to contribute to the efforts deployed in Morocco in the fight against cancer. This type of action, which in 2011 allowed for the screening of 300 people, whose detected cases benefited from free care in private clinics that are members of the SMCSL, is intended as an initiative for better access to care in the era of the generalisation of RAMED, notes the same source.

Created in 2010, the SMCSL works for the promotion of oncology among the national, Maghreb, and international medical and scientific community.

Through these scientific and social days, it signifies its desire to contribute to the fight against cancerous diseases through post-university continuing education and raising public awareness of the interest of early screening and treatment of cancerous diseases.
