International Film Festival for Childhood and Youth

International Film Festival for Childhood and Youth

The fourth edition of the International Film Festival for Childhood and Youth is being held from 9 to 13 September in Chefchaouen, on the theme "See the music and listen to the image".

This edition, dedicated to film music, will see the organisation of a cinematic artistic evening hosted by the "Beringuer" group specialising in film music, with a closing show given by the Moroccan artist Salma Rachid.

This cultural event, organised by the Montagnes Média association, will pay a vibrant tribute to Moroccan cinema in the person of actress Touria Alaoui, and to the seventh Lebanese art through one of its leading figures, Sami Clark.

The film "The Missing Lynx" will be screened at the opening of this edition, which will see the organisation of an official competition for short films, documentaries and animated films, as well as a "10 children's films" competition representing several countries, including Canada, the United States, France, Spain, Russia, England, Iran, Palestine, Egypt and Morocco. The programme for this event also includes the organisation of academic, theoretical and practical workshops, which will be concluded by the awarding of certificates by the Faculty of Fine Arts of Granada, as well as three workshops on film directing, led by Moroccan director Mohamed Chrif Tribak, on film photography at the Akchour waterfalls and on animated films for children. This event will also see the organisation of masterclasses on the future of Chefchaouen as a cinematic city, in addition to an open meeting with Sami Clark, for the benefit of children. Chaired by Egyptian actress Dalia Mustapha, the jury is composed of Moroccan actor Anas El Akel, Spanish producer Fransesco Luminia, Moroccan actor Amin Naji and Manuel Peledo Moura (Spanish journalist). A host of artists from the Moroccan, Arab and foreign seventh art will take part in this festival which will be punctuated by the screening of foreign films on the theme of childhood and youth.
