Alegria de Chefchaouen blows out its 9th candle

On 18 and 19 September, the city of Chefchaouen will host the ninth edition of the Alegria Festival. Enough to open the ball for the start of the school year. Having become an unmissable event for Moroccan festival-goers, this event will make the blue city vibrate with a handful of renowned artists and unique formations. For two days, the public will be entitled to numerous surprises. On the programme, hours of music on the festival's small and large stages, exhibitions of plastic arts, local products, and photographs. And unforgettable moments for the public and the artists invited to this ninth anniversary of Alegria. Last year, the Art and Culture Foundation of Chefchaouen succeeded in relaunching the Festival after two years of absence, following funding problems.

The public of this beautiful city has found its own festival. And what a reunion! A reunion to which music gave the taste of a joyful meeting where peace, tolerance, sharing, and cultural openness were the watchwords. Moreover, it is even these values that are characteristic of Chefchaouen and from which this festival draws, reflecting a beautiful image. This year, the organisers promise more surprises and great moments of relaxation. "Coming up, many surprises in terms of programming as well as major novelties for this ninth edition. Do not miss this festival nestled in the heights, as colourful, warm, and open as the city that hosts it," suggest the organisers.
