Agricultural workers in the Chtouka Ait Baha province are holding protests this week, denouncing what they call "the dire conditions and exploitation they are subjected to on farms and packaging units."
The agricultural workers are demanding wage increases that guarantee their dignity and keep pace with the exorbitant cost of living, and an end to all violations of their rights by large farmers and exporters.
The committee supporting the movement of workers in the agricultural sector criticised the government's procrastination and lack of seriousness in positively addressing the legitimate demands of the workers, and the absence of any concrete solutions to meet material and social demands and improve working conditions.
