Ait Baha factory certified ISO 50001 v2011

The Energy Management System certification crowns the efforts undertaken by the factory in terms of energy performance.
Ait Baha factory certified ISO 50001 v2011

The Ciments du Maroc factory in Ait Baha has just added a new certification to its list of achievements. Indeed, after having obtained the Quality and Environment certifications, according to the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, the factory has obtained the certification of its Energy Management System according to the ISO 50001 v2011 standard following the audit by the AFNOR organisation. It thus becomes the first cement plant in Morocco to obtain the Energy Management System certification. “It is a first in Morocco and one of the rare distinctions in the world, which reinforces the will of Ciments du Maroc and its parent company, Italcementi, in their efforts undertaken to excel in terms of energy efficiency,” declares Mohamed Chaibi, Chairman and CEO of the cement group. This recognition is therefore part of the dynamic of efforts undertaken by the factory in terms of energy performance since its start-up, notably, with the energy management system, established since July 2013, and which has been reinforced by the tools made available for operational control of energy aspects. “Beyond the centralised technical management systems and the technological degree of its installations, the factory has a cogeneration system (equipment that allows the recovery of heat that comes from exhaust gases during cooking in the clinker kiln) as well as a CSP solar thermal park (in collaboration with Airlight Energy and Italgen Maroc Ener), which are innovative installations in terms of energy efficiency,” it is explained by the group.
