Tangier hosted the 9th National Doctor's Day on Friday 10 and Saturday 11, under the theme "Prospects for public-private partnership in the field of health", with the participation of doctors, pharmacists, and dental surgeons from different regions of the Kingdom.
This two-day event, organised by the Independent Union of Public Sector Doctors (SIMSP), aims to allow professionals in the health sector to examine scientific developments, analyse the current situation in the health field, and debate public policies in the matter.
Speaking on this occasion, the Secretary General of the SIMSP, Mountadar Alaoui, assured that this meeting aims to debate issues relating to the health field and exchange experiences between doctors from the public and private sectors, in order to promote health services provided to citizens and accompany the implementation of the national strategy in the field of health.
In this context, the official stressed that this meeting constitutes an ideal opportunity to reflect on possible public-private partnerships and the actions to be implemented to have a "citizen" national health system capable of meeting the aspirations of Moroccans.
For his part, reports MAP, the Director of Hospitals and Ambulatory Care at the Ministry of Health, Ahmed Boudak, stated that this event is part of the Ministry's strategy and the reforms undertaken in the matter, particularly that of financing the health system with the advent of basic medical coverage, calling for the pooling of efforts from the public and private sectors to improve the national health offer and access to necessary care by the Moroccan population.
For his part, Abdelmalek El Hnaoui, advisor within the SIMSP, presented a paper on "Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in health: principles, challenges, and prospects", in which he assured that the conclusion of a PPP contract requires the establishment of a dialogue between the two sectors, in order to ensure the stability and viability of the health system.
