The Tanger Med Port ranked 55th in the world
The Tanger Med Port has gained 20 places and is ranked 55th in the world for container traffic, while the new car activity is still recording clear growth, according to the British specialist magazine "Container Management" which has established the ranking of the 120 most important ports in the world in terms of container traffic. Indeed, at the Tanger Med level, container traffic stood, at the end of the first half of 2014, at 1,500,000 TEU containers (twenty-foot equivalent), an increase of 24% compared to the same period last year. In parallel, traffic at the Renault car terminal stood at 94,500 units, of which 79,500 were produced in the Renault Mellousa factory in Tanger, thus recording an increase of 64% compared to the same period in 2013.
