Since the beginning of the Marhaba 2014 operation and until 6 July, 118,084 passengers, 38,463 automobiles, and 517 coaches have returned to the Kingdom through the Tanger Med port. In parallel, 64,604 passengers, 21,486 cars, and 383 coaches have crossed the passage in the other direction. Regarding communication with passengers, the website www.tangermed-passagers.com is now available in an Arabic version, in addition to the French version operational since last year. Similarly, a mobile application "Port Tanger Med Passagers" for smartphones is also downloadable on "Apple Store" and "Play Store" (Android), allowing travellers to be informed at any time about the traffic situation at the port. Electronic boards specific to each shipping company will allow the display of crossing prices. In parallel, LED screens displaying the departure and arrival times of boats are installed in the ticket purchase area for passengers with vehicles, in the ferry terminal, and in the pre-boarding areas. Finally, a Tanger Med Port radio station is being launched in 3 languages (Arabic, French, and English) to provide continuous information to passengers on the weather, boat schedules, press releases, useful information, etc., in addition to three variety shows per day. In the register of improvements, it is worth mentioning the start of a new ferry terminal for pedestrian passengers in the Tanger Med Center port, connected to the city of Tanger thanks to railway and bus stations. Also to be noted is the physical separation of vehicle traffic at the entrance and exit, allowing the doubling of car processing capacity and the optimisation of user transit times. Similarly, the ticketing area inside the port has been rearranged for more comfort for passengers with vehicles (shaded, green spaces, benches...). New booths for shipping companies will allow travellers already in possession of their tickets to check in without getting out of the car. At the boarding area level, the Passenger port has seen the realisation of a relaxation area to improve the comfort of travellers during their transit. Operated by professionals to international standards, it includes cafes, restaurants, shops, Duty Free, infirmary, terraces with a view of the entire port, etc. Finally, the number of public drinking water fountains and sanitary facilities has significantly increased through the installation of new equipment.
