From 6 to 15 February 2014, the city of the strait will host the 15th edition of the Tangier National Film Festival (FNF). An opportunity to bring together professionals of the 7th art and unveil the cinematic achievements of the year.

As in every edition, this year two sections are planned in the competition: feature films and short films. According to the short film selection committee, 21 will be in official competition. This committee is chaired by Mohammed Bakrim, a film critic.

"These films were selected following the viewing of 65 short films by the selection committee for films applying for the official competition," it is indicated. Among the designated films are "C'est moi" by Youness Reggab, "Cléopâtre" by Hicham Hajji, "Les frères" by Youssef Britel, "Rendez-vous avec Ninette" by Souad Amidou, "Qanis" by Reda Mustapha, "Carte Postale" by Mahassine El Hachadi, and "La troisième main" by Hicham Elladdaqi.

On the other hand, this edition will be marked by the holding of an interprofessional meeting around the recommendations of the White Paper on the film sector. Likewise, the FNF programme includes several activities, notably press conferences, the presentation of the cinematic balance sheet for the year 2013, as well as debates.

It should be remembered that the grand prize of the 14th edition of the Tangier National Film Festival was won by Mounir Abbar for his film "Al Hadaf". The special jury prize was obtained by "Ça tourne" by Mohammed Mounna. As for the screenplay prize, it was awarded to Omar Mouldouira for "Margelle". Furthermore, in the feature film section, it was director Nour-Eddine Lakhmari who won the Grand Prix for his film "Zéro". The Special Jury Prize was obtained by Abdeslam Kelai for "Malak".
