This event, organised by the Regional Council of the Order of Architects of Tangier, focuses on a series of conferences and round tables on architecture and urban planning, led by national and international experts, and centred on the issue of city policy.

The programme for this event notably includes a seminar entitled "Agora, architects' view of the city", designed as a platform for exchange on different perspectives on the city, through free-expression exhibitions and the screening of a film produced by the Regional Council as a basis for discussion.

A meeting of young architects is also on the menu, with conferences on the future of young architecture and issues related to modern urban planning.

On the sidelines of this event, the International Union of Architects (UIA) will hold the annual meeting of its Professional Practice Commission. This commission has carried out work on the practice of the architectural profession, which has led to the publication of the UIA accords, terms of reference that establish the broad outlines of professional practice worldwide.

For its part, the Union of African Architects (UAA) will hold several meetings on this occasion, including that of the Vision and Strategy Committee for Africa and that of the Continuing Education Committee for Africa.

Founded in 1948, it represents more than 1,300,000 architects worldwide. Its objectives are to improve the practices and quality standards of the architectural profession and to ensure architecture that is responsible in the face of current and future challenges.

The UAA is a non-governmental organisation founded in 1981. Federating the professional organisations of architects from 34 countries, it aims to promote and improve the living conditions and environment of human beings, through architecture and architects who respect human values.
