A teacher was seriously injured with a bladed weapon, at the level of the lower jaw, by a student caught red-handed cheating during the regional exams for the first year of the baccalaureate, which began on Monday.

The victim was transferred to the city's provincial hospital while the student was arrested by security services, he specified in a statement to the MAP.

The provincial delegation decided to exclude the student concerned from the regional exams and to take all necessary administrative measures against him. The objective is to fight against practices that could harm the credibility of final-year exams, added the provincial delegate of the Ministry of National Education of Salé, Ahmed Kikech.

He indicated, moreover, that several preventive measures have been taken to ensure the smooth running of the exams.
