Only a few weeks left before the first tenants of Midparc take up residence in this new integrated industrial platform, the most important in the country.
Located in the province of Nouaceur and with an investment of around 740 million dirhams, this project is part of the National Pact for Industrial Emergence. Midparc covers 141 hectares and, once completed, it will be established as an industrial platform with the status of a free zone dedicated to export.
The first phase of the project is now in the process of being delivered. This covers an area of 63 hectares and is undergoing final touches in terms of development. The project promoters (MEDZ, ARSCO, CENAL, and MASPIN) expect the first deliveries during the summer season that is looming on the horizon. In this sense, the Canadian aeronautical manufacturer Bombardier, the first client of Midparc, has already begun its installation in this new integrated zone. It should be noted the interest shown by a myriad of companies wishing to set up in Midparc. An interest that draws its sources from a wide range of advantages offered by this new generation integrated platform.
“Midparc offers the services of a one-stop shop, located geographically at the entrance to the site and bringing together, in particular, legal, customs, and administrative skills.
It allows any industrialist, in quick timeframes, to process and settle all matters concerning them in interface with the Moroccan administrations,” indicate the promoters of Midparc.
To this could be added the offers relating to modular industrial buildings, set up in short timeframes, as well as the provision of relay workshops in preparation for final installation and, in parallel, a wide range of services facilitating operation (security, maintenance, telecoms, business and training center, etc.). However, the attractiveness that Midparc enjoys is mainly dependent on the free zone status it enjoys.
A reality that confers on exporting companies tax and customs advantages resulting in zero tax (0%) on the company during the first five years of activity. A rate that increases to 8.75% for the 20 years following the start of activity, culminating at 17.5% beyond this period.
In parallel, and to accompany similar projects, specialized institutes have emerged with the aim of ensuring the training of the different profiles that will be requested in the future, including the Institute of Aeronautical Trades (IMA), which offers generic or specific qualifying training for operators and technicians in this sector. The IMA aims in the medium term to train 800 people per year in aeronautical and space trades, thanks to a tool meeting international standards set up through a partnership between the Moroccan State, the Group of Moroccan Aeronautical and Space Industries, as well as the Union of Metallurgical Industries.
Furthermore, the second phase of Midparc covers an area of 62 hectares. Work relating to this second pole should be started in 2015.
An exceptional logistical position
The designers of Midparc aim to set up an industrial platform with an innovative design for the aeronautical industry, defense-security, electronics, composite materials, and industrial logistics. Located near the Kingdom's main airport, Midparc offers an exceptional logistical position at the gates of Europe and Africa. Connected to the country's motorway and rail networks, the industrial zone is 30 km from Casablanca and its port. The project is expected to create more than 15,000 jobs in the long term. On the security side, the Midparc industrial park, as a free zone, is completely enclosed, leaving as the only entry and exit route a main post monitored by customs. The security aspect is completed by surveillance measures through guarding, remote monitoring, and video surveillance.
