H.M. the King thus inaugurated a social centre for mothers and children, a social centre for the elderly, and a socio-commercial complex for the support of fish sellers, built by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity for a total investment of nearly 19 million dirhams (MDH). These projects aim to support women in difficulty, provide care for the elderly, and promote the fishing sector to make it a true lever for economic and social development. The social centre for mothers and children will provide women with qualifying training in culinary arts and traditional sewing and literacy classes, in addition to psychological support and legal protection. The construction of the centre in the Les Crêtes district required a budget of 2.8 million dirhams, mobilised thanks to funding from the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and financial support from the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH). It will be managed by the Mouassat Association for the support of widows. As for the social centre for the elderly, its objectives are to provide accommodation, catering, health protection, and general well-being for elderly people without resources, homeless, and without family support. It will thus contribute to their integration, protection, and the improvement of their living conditions, while supporting them in a process of socio-economic reintegration. Like the one built by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in Rabat, the centre for the elderly will contribute to the fight against begging, just as it will allow for the development of a regional observatory for the elderly living in precarious situations with a view to establishing a monitoring and protection system for this destitute social category. The social centre for the elderly, adjacent to the one intended for mothers and children, was built for a cost of 7.8 million dirhams financed by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity with the financial support of the INDH. The construction of the socio-commercial complex for the support of fish sellers is part of the new programme adopted by the Foundation for the benefit of this category of beneficiaries, and whose results at the centres already operational in Agadir, M'Diq, and Fnideq have shown their great utility in the social and economic integration of the targeted people. This new complex is at once a reception structure, a professional qualification centre, and a support centre for fish sellers working within the port of Mohammedia, notably through support for the marketing of fishing products within a standardised and regulated framework. Located in the lower town of Mohammedia, the complex was built for a cost of 7.9 million dirhams financed by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity with the financial support of the INDH. On this occasion, H.M. the King, may God assist him, handed over the keys to an ambulance and a light vehicle, a donation from the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, to the Muslim Charity Association, manager of the social centre for the elderly.
