New projects at the complex for people with special needs

New projects at the complex for people with special needs

The Socio-educational Complex for people with special needs in Khouribga is developing over time. In this sense, a social economy structure will soon be born within it. The announcement was made by Farid Loustek, president of the Al Mostakbal Association for people with special needs in charge of managing the complex, during a ceremony in which sports equipment and incentive bonuses were distributed to champions who have shone both nationally and internationally.

In concrete terms, this new "Social Economy" hub will cover an area of 540 m2 and will be endowed with a total budget of 1.47 million dirhams. The new structure will consist of a restaurant-café (240 m2) for an investment of 750,000 dirhams, a bakery-pastry shop (250 m2) for a cost of 700,000 dirhams, and a physiotherapy room (50 m2) whose construction will require a budget of 20,000 dirhams.

The complex currently consists of an indoor sports hall equipped with high-level equipment, open to the public, as well as facilities intended for vocational training in hairdressing, sewing, computing and aesthetics. Furthermore, the Al Mostakbal Association, which has seven sports sections (basketball, tennis, pétanque, swimming, volleyball, weightlifting, athletics), was born thanks to the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH). It currently occupies an honourable place among sports associations for people with special needs. The club has managed to win the National Championship and Throne Cup titles in the "Power-lifting" discipline 7 times in succession. Likewise, it has regularly occupied the top four places at the national level in several sports disciplines. Internationally, the Khouribga club has often dominated athletics and "Power-lifting" competitions. "The committee continues to organise awareness and coaching campaigns to encourage people with disabilities to practice disability sports in order to integrate them into active society. This first action has made it possible to popularise and promote this sport in the Chaouia-Ouardigha and Tadla-Azilal regions," concludes Farid Loustek.
