Seven people, including two women, were injured in a fire that ravaged a plastic production unit in the province of Mediouna (Greater Casablanca) on Friday evening, according to local authorities.

The injured, all employees of the unit located on the provincial road R.P 3.100 in the rural commune of Sidi Hajjaj Oued Hassar, are suffering from burns of varying degrees and have been evacuated to hospital, according to the same source.

The fire, which broke out around 18:30, completely destroyed the unit, with parts of the perimeter wall and sections of the ceiling collapsing, as observed on site.
