Nearly 150 million dirhams for the restoration of housing threatened with ruin in Fès between 2016 and 2020
A budgetary envelope of nearly 150 million dirhams (MDH) has been allocated to the implementation of the programme for the restoration of housing threatened with ruin and the development of peripheral districts of Fès for the 2016-2020 period.
According to data presented on Wednesday during the ordinary session of the Fès City Council, the credits allocated to this programme are part of the partnership agreement signed between the urban commune of Fès and the ministries of the Interior, Housing and Urban Policy, Economy and Finance, as well as the Al Omrane company.
By virtue of this agreement, the ministries of the Interior and Housing and Urban Policy will each inject 70 MDH, while the city council will contribute approximately 10 MDH.
The Al Omrane company of Fès will be responsible for the financial management of the programme, while the Prefectural Council undertakes to determine the list of beneficiaries and the supervision of this operation in coordination with the Ministry of Housing and local authorities.
The agreement aims to improve the living conditions of the population, to fight against social and economic precariousness, and to allow the inhabitants of these districts to access housing that meets quality standards.
The relocation operation will target some 2,500 households living in buildings threatened with ruin in the northern zones of Fès, Jnanate, Louizate, Sehb Al Ward, Ouinet El Hajjaj, and Zouagha.
