Opening of the Festival with religious and patriotic songs

The 15th edition of the Fès International Festival of Cinema and Education opened on Tuesday with religious and patriotic songs. During the opening session of this artistic event, which aims to promote cinematic culture among young people, the choir of the Royal Military High School of Ifrane and students from the Oum Ayman Artistic Development Centre in Fès brilliantly performed songs dear to the hearts of Moroccans, such as "Aïchi, aïchi ya bladi" by Mahmoud El Idrissi and "El Matal el ali" by the famous artist Ismaïl Ahmed, to the great delight of a cosmopolitan audience. The opening session was also marked by the performance of a play that addresses art as a bulwark against delinquency and violence in the educational environment. Several countries are participating in this event, including Germany, Belgium, Spain, Tunisia, Egypt, and Côte d'Ivoire, in addition to young artistic talents from the various Regional Academies of Education and Training (AREF) of the Kingdom.

This 15th edition is punctuated by the screening of 22 films made by students representing all the Kingdom's AREFs, 12 international films, in addition to the films in competition, including two feature films from Spain and Egypt. The event's programme also includes workshops and conferences on "Cinema and Education" led by film critics and directors, as well as the screening of the film "Waiting for Pasolini" by director Daoud Oulad Sayed, to whom a tribute will be paid alongside the former director of the Regional Academy of Education and Training, Mohamed Ould Dada. Organised in partnership with the "Space for Creativity in Cinema and Theatre" Association and the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training, this Festival aims to contribute to the integration of audiovisual techniques into the education system as a means of promoting and improving the quality of teaching.
