Buses equipped with a 4G Wi-Fi connection

The City-bus company, manager of urban transport in the city of Fes, has just put into service new buses equipped with a free 4G Wi-Fi internet connection, the company announced.

The City-bus company has set up "4G Wi-Fi" for free in six buses before gradually generalising this experience to the entire fleet, indicated the company's CEO, Ali Moutie, on Wednesday in Fes, during a ceremony held in the presence of, among others, the Wali of the Fes-Meknes region, Said Zniber, the president of the urban commune, Driss Azami Idrissi, as well as elected officials.

As part of its services aimed primarily at improving the quality of urban transport services for the benefit of the population, City-bus will also proceed with the launch of the "Al Wafa" magnetic card system with the aim of reducing ticket prices on certain lines, the company's CEO specified.

With the adoption of the "Al Wafa" card, the 4 DH lines will go to 3.80 DH and the 3.50 DH line will go to 3.35 DH, he added. Similarly, for the 3 DH line, it will go to 2.90 DH.

According to City-bus, these magnetic cards offer all public and private institutions and establishments wishing for their staff to benefit from this range of services the possibility of requesting the subscription office according to the number of users, needs, travel, and desired routes.

The company has already launched, as part of its efforts to offer the inhabitants of Fes quality urban transport services, an Operation Support System (SAE). This system, which constitutes the first technological innovation of the ICT type in urban transport in Morocco, has as its main function the real-time regulation of bus service and their movement, it is recalled.

To meet operational needs, City-bus has put into service an average fleet of about a hundred buses circulating per day. This fleet has allowed the company to ensure the transport of a larger number of users compared to the last four years, to facilitate control operations on the network, and to reduce waiting times at various stations.

The City-bus company operates a network of about thirty lines allowing the inhabitants of Fes to travel anywhere in the city. It also provides, via 10 other lines, service to the provinces of Moulay Yaâcoub and Sefrou as well as the communes under the prefecture of Fes, Aïn Bida, Skhinate, and Sidi Harazem.
